10 Chinese Dishes Attract Sai Gon Guests

Many Chinese dishes invaded into Viet Nam cuisine and it attracts many people because of its well- decorated look as well as its delicious flavor such as fish porridge, dim sum, egg sweetsoup. Along with many Vietnamese dishes, these Chinese dish is considered as one of favorite options for many Sai Gon guests. Moreover, these dishes also keep the balance as Vietnam dishes and very nutritious.

Here are 10 favorite Chinese dishes that we recommend you should try once.

Fish Rice Noodle (Hu Tieu Ca)

It is a famous dish of Chinese people.   Fresh catfish fillets is sliced thinly as well as marinated with MSG, salt and kept cold. When serving to guests, the local chef will dip rice noodle into boiled water quickly, put the fish on the top and a hot and tasty broth. It is more delicious with some herbs. 

Ho Rice Noodle ( Hu Tieu Ho)

It is made from  thin square pieces of dough. The mixture of chewy noodles with scrumptious broth is so smilar for those who often eat Hu Tieu. The most interesting is It is pig tripes and pickled mustard green accompanied.

Har gow


It is a snack that you can find in any school gates, markets or China town. Dumpling is easy to eat and you can eat whenever in day. The translucent skin is covered its shrimp or pork inside. The price for a dumpling from VND 1.000- 5.000. 

Shu mai

The most well-known Shu mai shop in HCM is Ha Ton Quyen street, district 11. There are more than thousands of shop selling this dish.  Because of the same ingredients,  every restaurant uses their own spice. There are many interesting shumai mixture dishes as with instant noodles and roasted sliced pork.

1       Porridge


In SaiGon, there are 2 Chinese porridges : Fish Porridge and Pepper Porridge. While fish porridge is accompanied by pig tripes and fish eggs, pepper porridge is served with pig offals such as heart, liver,… The chef also add scallion and thin sliced ginger.

Special duck egg noodle soup (Mi Vit Tiem)


This dish attract guests with fresh noodles made from eggs, crunchy sweet cabbage and delicious duck meat. The duck meat has a crispy skin and soft sweet duck meat. This is a reason why this dish is also in the top choice of many people.

Fish Balls Curry Noodle (Mi ca ri ca vien)


Many guests are enchanted by yellow fresh noodles, fried fish balls, green collard greens, together with richy and tasty curry sauce. The price for a bowl of fish balls curry noodle is very cheap so it becomes a favourite street food of many people.

Hong Kong noodle (Mi Hong Kong )


It is known as cart noodle coming into HCM  recently. Guests can choose the optional ingredients  as noodle, sauce individually to make their own favorite flavor.

Cade sticky rice (Xoi Cade)


This dish is the combination of sticky rice, yolk and durian. It is one of many delicious sticky rice and guests can find it in any crowded street of Sai Gon. The most famous cade sticky rice shop is on Tran Phu street.

Chinese tea with egg sweetsoup  (Che trung ga tra Tau)  


It is considered as a nutrious sweetsoup. It is good for lungs and kidneys. In addition, it helps your skin more beautiful and improve your voice. This simple dish is made by using the tea water to steam the boiled and peeled egg, adding a little sugar. It is hard to eat at the first time but you will be charmed if eat frequently
