VietNamese street food is so diverse and delicious. We know about Banh Trang Nuong, Banh Trang Tron as a favourite street food in Viet Nam. So we will introduce a new street food but it proves that every ingredients become amazing in VietNamese cookers.
The explosion in flavour of this dish is actually overwhelming everyone. The most interesting in this dish is a little sweet, sourish making you can’t stop eating. It is a perfect combination when eating with bread. Let to find out what is in this dish.
Pha-Lau

Pha Lau is a dish made from cow’s intestine or pig’s intestine, somestime both of it. It is called in English “Beef Intestine Stew” or “Pig Intestine Stew”. As it name, the ingredients that we can’t miss in this dish is cow’s intestine or pig’s intestine, along with the mixed fish sauce, a little chilly. To make the mixed fish sauce, you have to add sugar, fish sauce and a little tamarind. Then, you stir this mixture until thickening it. This street food can attract many generations from the young children to the old man.
In aboard, it is very hard to find a dish like Pha Lau. It includes stomach, small intestine,.. from cows or pigs but it is cleaned carefully before cooking. Vietnamese uses a lot of ways to make it cleaned like using lemon, salt or even fermented cold rice,…
It is very strange with many foreigners, but it actually works in this case. Then, they will embalm it with spices, fried it  and add a little coconut syrup. The fat of coconut syrup and sourish of tamarind and sweet, it will blow your mind. When eating, you use your hand to bend and take a piece of bread. Then, you put it into the bowl of Pha Lau. You can use a spoon to eat the pork/ cow intestine.
Althought you only sits on the plastic chair, eating on the pavements, nobody feel bother about it. They only taste it and can’t stop tasting.
Pha Lau is sold in many street stalls or street vendors with a cheap price, only 75 cents for a bowl it. You can eat with bread, costs 10cents/ per bowl.
You can find it in restaurants as well. But if you want to find a truly VietNamese version, you can go to Ben Thanh Market or Cho Lon and ask people about it. There are many street stalls here selling Pha Lau everyday.
The cost fluctant from 50 cents to 75 cents, depending on the street stalls. If you come to Viet Nam, you should try it one time.
It is actually an amazing experience in Viet Nam that you have. And one thing special in Viet Nam is you can tell the vendor what type of intestine do you want more or add more sauce or leave any intestines or sauce that you don’t like.
They will be served upon your request. Vietnamese street vendor is very friendly, don’t be afraid of making an special request.

Vietnamese don’t realize that this dish reached to an excellent level that many cookers in the world want to have. Even with a simple dish, VietNamese always put their heart into their dish and actually make it shining.
